Growing up in China, Yan never thought she could be a runner. She struggled with mile runs all the years as a student. She began to run in her late 30’s. She became a more serious runner after switching from the treadmill to outdoor running. Her first half marathon in 2015 built up her confidence and she later competed multiple marathons and was blessed to qualify for Boston in her second marathon in May of 2018.
She enjoys running to ensure she maintain a health lifestyle. She would like to contribute the community and decided to pace in order to help others achieve their goals.
