Tracey Rouse

Tracey started to fall in love for running and took up running after getting lost on the first unplanned long run. Five years ago, her longest distance was a 5k. She was convinced by her Black Girl Run sister to come out for a half marathon training run of 6 miles. She somehow ended up on the full marathon route and ended up with 8 miles. After that day she felt so confident about running long distance and how much fun it was. Since then she continued showing up for the long runs, she joined BGR, then became a Run Coordinator for them and she is now one of the Co-Ambassador for Black Girls Run, Memphis TN.  Along with trying to help other women reach their goals with running, she has completed 44 Half-Marathons in 25 states and 1 international race, 7 Full-Marathons and bunch of other races; 5K, 10K and 15K’s. She also has been a St. Jude Marathon Hero 3 times for Memphis, TN. Her main goal is run a half-marathon in all 50 states before she turns 50 years old, complete a Triathlon & and take up guitar lessons. After pacing for 2 races and seeing how helpful it was and how much enjoyed encouraging others, she decided to join the Beast Pacing Group. When she is not running, she is a single mother of a 17-year boy, Senior Associate for Investment firm, Church Treasurer for her church, teaches piano lessons to 7 students, teaches workout classes at school for teachers and is taking step & kickboxing classes.
