Shannon Russell

Shannon has been running since 8th grade. She did not begin running races until college, where she ran multiple 5k’s for fun. Upon entering her graduate program at Virginia Commonwealth University for Occupational Therapy, she was challenged by her colleagues to escalate her running career and begin running half marathons. Inspired by her classmates and professors, she ran her first half marathon in 2014. She ran 3 half marathons that year. Upon arriving to Houston, she joined multiple run clubs to meet new people, stay active, and have fun. Through these clubs, she was motivated and encouraged to run the 2015 Houston Marathon, which she completed in 4:29:04. She has completed 6 Marathons since then and is currently working to earn a medal in all 50 states. So far, she has raced in 10 states. Shannon wants to motivate and encourage others to meet their goals, have fun while running, and create new goals to challenge themselves. She is CPR, AED, and basic first aid certified. She is looking forward to pacing you and helping you achieve your goals!
