Scott DeFusco

Scott started running in 2011 as a way to break out of a sedentary 9-5 office routine.  After completing his first 5k that year, he was hooked on the excitement and competition of a good road race.  Over the next several years, he increased the logical distance – first to 10k, then half marathons, full marathons, and now ultra marathons ranging from 100 milers to 24+ hour events.

As an extreme challenge, Scott ran the 2018 Boston Marathon totally barefoot through cold, wind and rain.  He is a vegan runner that values plant-based nutrition and plenty of cross-training as the keys to long-term running glory.  Scott enjoys pacing because a pace group takes on a life of its own, with a unique energy and enthusiasm.
