The one constant in Sarah’s life has been exercise, and the easiest form for her to get that exercise is through running. Sarah joined the Army in August of 2001 and was soon in the thickof things overseas. During her two tours in Iraq, she completed the Army 10 Mile Shadow Run twice in Balad, Iraq. After being discharged in 2007, Sarah followed her husband around while he finished out his 20 years in the military. Completing numerous 5k’s, 10k’s and half marathons in the states and South Korea, Sarah soon expanded to triathlons. Her best memory is winning a 10 kilogram bag of rice for a half marathon and completing an Olympic distance triathlon while in Korea.
After her husband retired from the Army, the family moved to Nebraska. Sarah just graduated with her Master’s in Physical Activity in Health Promotion and is looking to help others develop a great relationship with running activities. She has never done a full marathon, but loves to compete in the Double Mary, a two-day event which has runners complete two different half marathon courses over one weekend. As she gets older, Sarah can see herself continuing to enjoy the many aspects of exercise. Sarah also wants others to take charge of their lives and try new and challenging activities!
