Ryan DeJong

Ryan took up running at the age of 27 and the weight of 250lbs. What started as an initiative to lose weight and improve health turned into a love affair with a running lifestyle. Consistently logging over 1500 miles annually Ryan enjoys running with his hometown club, Run Tampa, a community service-oriented run club called L.O.U.D. Runners (which stands for “Lifting Others Up Daily) and he especially enjoys pairing up with Angel riders from Ainsley’s Angels of Florida to help people with physical limitations enjoy the thrill of the racing experience.

Since 2008, Ryan has run races spanning distances from 5k to marathon with a special interest in those that raise funds for cancer research. He is a founder of Fighter Foundation, a Tampa-based non-profit supporting brain tumor patients, caregivers and their families. Fighter race teams have generated over a quarter million dollars for cancer research since 2014.

Each year Ryan enjoys competing in a special race to celebrate his birthday and in 2020 for his 40th he plans to run the world’s oldest annual marathon: aka the Boston Marathon! In the meantime, he is thrilled for the opportunity to help others achieve their goals with Beast Pacing.
