Ritsuko Huth

Ritsuko is from Japan.  She was recruited to join company-owned running teams and competed nationally in Japan and internationally (Asia, North America, Europe, Australia) for 13 years.  During this period (1990 -2004) her PRs were 5,000m (15:50), 10,000m (32:50), Half (1:11:10), and Full (2:37:36).  She also participated in the IAAF International Half Marathon competition as a member of the Japanese National Team in Italy.

After retiring from her team, she decided to get married and focused on raising her two children.  She stopped running for 7 years, and moved to California with her family.  In San Diego, she started running again with her friends and has enjoyed road and trail runs, Ragnar events/relays, as well as Half and Full marathons.  Ritsuko is thankful for being part of the San Diego running community where she has met so many great runners.  She has also enjoyed coaching youth and adults to reach their running goals.  In 2016, she participated in the Boston marathon.  Her recent best record for half-marathon is 2:28 and 3:30 for full-marathon.
