Rashaad begun running in in 2004, when the company he was working for offered to pay for the 5k if he wore a company shirt. Every since then he has been running and once he moved from Michigan to California he begun graduating in distance. He qualified for Boston in his first marathon in 2011 and has been running marathons all over the world ever since. Rashaad has run all six marathon majors (Boston, Chicago, New York, Berlin, London, Tokyo) but his fastest time took place in Paris where he ran a 2:50. Rashaad also runs the other distances 5k, 10k and half-marathons. He considers half-marathons the perfect mix of speed and endurance and enjoys running those the most, his PR is 1:18.
One of the most valuable things he has gained over the years is being a part of the running community. Many of his best friends have come from running and now everywhere he goes around town he runs into other runners he knows from his race group or from races. Rashaad has also mentored other runners and enjoys seeing people work hard to accomplish their goals.
