Petra Casey

Having been a reluctant moderate exerciser for  most of her post-ballet life, Petra started running  races at 48. She ran her first half and full marathons at 49, then decided to embark on a 50 state journey. As an older runner, she found out the hard  way that in addition to running lots of miles, nutrition and cross training are key for injury prevention. She has also discovered  the fun of running with others and now  runs 4 times a week with a local group The Chatty Chicks and Dashing Dudes whose motto is “finish upright and smiling”.She is  looking forward to answering  questions including marathon training at any age, recovery and whatever other topics come up, all the while pacing the group to their goal time!
