After moving across the country for undergrad, Nicole decided join a running club. She spent her summer training so she could complete the daily 5+ mile runs. She was fairly clueless, and ended up training for a half marathon with her club without having any desire to run one. Once friends informed Nicole that she had already put in the required training, she signed up.
From there, running became a slippery slope as she completed 3 half marathons during her first year at college. The following year she completed two ultra RAGNAR relays with the club. Two years later, she completed her first marathon followed by 3 more that year and two ultramarathons. Today, she continues to run races of all distances and types, ranging from 5ks to 50+ mile ultramarathons.
Nicole continues to find new ways to grow as a runner through the ultra community and road races. Thanks to all the experienced runners who helped her along the way, she now aspires to give back to the running community through volunteering and pacing at events.
