Natalie originally started running to gain endurance for playing ice hockey in 2016. She ran a handful of 5Ks prior, but didn’t get serious about running until 2017, when she completed 40 5Ks, 3 10Ks, 1 half marathon and a few other races of various distances in between. She completed her first distance race (the Pomona Holiday Half) in December 2017 and has since completed 80+ lifetime half marathons, including 52 halves in 363 days in 2019, which qualified her for the Sun Level (highest level) in Half Fanatics. Despite vowing to never run a marathon, Natalie completed 4 of them in 2019, 3 of which were in a 90-day period to qualify her for Marathon Maniacs. She discovered the satisfaction of pacing when she unofficially paced a friend to a new PR at the Rock ‘n’ Roll San Jose Half in October 2019 and she hopes to continue to help people reach their goals in 2020 and beyond.
In her spare time, Natalie enjoys attending live sporting events, bowling, karaoke, and hiking. She uses her language skills working as a Logistics Specialist for a Japanese automotive company.
