Meaghan Cyphers (29) was always a runner while cross-training her rowing through high school and college. Running wasn’t her main sport until after college. She ran her first marathon in 2011 at the Shamrock Marathon in Virginia Beach before officially doing a half marathon. The idea would be one and done. Of course, she caught the bug. She then went through a phase of triathlons including the Eagleman Half Ironman in Maryland before moving to Colorado in 2013. Inevitably, the Colorado trails made her fall in love with the trails. The Colorado trails provide endless happiness to her. Since then she has officially completed 5 ultramarathons and 10 full marathons. In 2015, she qualified for the 2017 Boston Marathon with a 3:27 marathon time at the Revel Canyon City in California. One of her favorite motivational quotes while running is, “You are better than you think you are, and you can do more than you think you can.” ~Ken Chlouber, Leadville 100 founder.
She loves to pace and help others reach their goals during a race anywhere from a half marathon to an ultramarathon. She also works as a Lifetime Fitness Runtime Lead to help fulfill her craving to help others reach their goals. When in doubt, go on a run. She is pretty sure she has gone on long enough runs to solve world hunger, only to forget the answer because she is so tired.
