As a child, May dreaded Physical Education classes. Before 2008, she could barely finish a 5k in 39 minutes. While working abroad, May was introduced to a running group in late 2008 and was bitten by the running bug ever since. Through weekly runs and motivation from her running friends, she was able to increase her mileage slowly and ran her first 10k race in under 49 minutes in May 2009. The rest of was history. Since then she has run multiple half marathons and marathons including the Boston Marathon in 2013.
In June 2014, she made her debut as one of the 55 minute pacers for the 10k at the Calgary Marathon weekend. She thoroughly enjoys helping runners in the pace group in reaching their goals. When she is not working or running with her friends, you will find her volunteering as a coach for the local beginner running program in Houston called Power in Motion.
