Linda started running in her 30’s to try and lose weight. She was overweight when she was growing up and decided to get into running to lose weight. She started doing couch to 5k and saw a commercial about training for your first Marathon at Disney. With the help of the Track Shack and her coach, who by the way was amputee, completed her first marathon – The Disney Marathon!! After that, she officially caught the running bug.
Now she wants to help inspire others to do the same, whether it training for a 5k or marathon. She has encouraged several people to do their first 5k’s as well as half and full marathons. She was most proud after convincing her younger sister to not only to do her first 5k, but then trained for the Disney Half marathon! The same race that inspired her to become a runner now inspired her sister to do the same. She has competed in several half marathons, full marathons, and even her first half ironman, which was a BIG accomplishment since she is afraid of water. She is living proof that “nothing is impossible, the word itself says “I’m Possible”- Audrey Hepburn. She now enjoys running for other. She has been working with Achilles International working on guiding runners. She also runs each race for her husband diagnosed with Melanoma Cancer.
Besides working and running, she spends her free time by volunteering with Team RWB and Achilles International (Guided runner). She also loves fostering dogs. Her goal is to eventually do a half marathon in each state and achieve her “Ultra” status as well.
