Lauren began running in February of 2018 at the age of 32 with her sights set on that October’s Cape Cod Marathon. Encouraged and frustrated by friends’ nonchalant comments about running marathons on this or that weekend, she didn’t believe she could do it – which is exactly why she had to.
Starting from 8 miles a week, she built slowly (and safely) to complete the marathon 8 months later. In the process, she fell in love with the feeling of personal accountability that comes from doing the thing she said she’d do, and with the beautiful, quiet path that runs along the Charles River just outside of Boston.
As a professional development trainer, running has given her personal experience behind the quotes that “Feeling follows action” and “Do the thing and you will have the power.” She’s humbled to pace alongside racers as they set and chase their goals.
