Kristin’s first marathon was the 2005 Philadelphia Marathon. At that time, Kristin vowed to never run another marathon again! But when participating as the 4th leg of the Baltimore Marathon Relay in 2010, she was so inspired by all of the runners; she decided to run a second. In 2011, she completed the Baltimore Marathon and went on to complete her first ultra trail race in November 2011. And as the saying goes, she was hooked! To celebrate her 30th birthday, she completed 10 marathons in 2012 and raised over $2,000 for First Descents charity. To date, Kristin has completed over 75 marathons, including several ultras. She aspires to run 100 and join the 100 Marathon Club by her 40th birthday. Just recently Kristin eliminated processed and unnatural foods from her diet (“clean eating”) and can give advice on foods to eat eat before, during, and after a race – her race day favorite is Justin’s almond butter and prunes. Kristin credits her ability to complete her first marathon to the Pacer she ran with and wants to give back to other runners in helping them reach their goal during race day.
