Jason Castro has been a member for Southern Colorado Running club for two years, in that short time Jason has become an active and valuable member of the club. For the past two years Jason as served as host for the club’s Temple Canyon predict run and has helped at numerous other events, including marking courses, course marshal, and lead bike. Jason has only been running for three and half years, however, Jason’s progression has been rapid and his accomplishments this past year are impressive. Jason was overall winner at the 6th Annual Baylon Michael Meyer 10k, Paws for Life 5k, Hoofit 4 Harley Half marathon and the Beulah Challenge 10k! Jason’s frequent Age Group placing include; 1st place at Hot to Trot and at the Pikes Peak Road Runner’s Winter Series. Jason is at his best when running uphill, so it is no big surprise that Jason ran the Mt. Evans Ascent, Barr Trail Mountain race and both the Pikes Peak Ascent and Marathon. Jason’s other strength is running marathon distance, the past two year, Jason has ran Boston – 3:13, Rock & Roll Denver – 3:22, Pikes Peak – 5:48, Boston – 3:12, and Colfax marathon – 3:17. Jason likes to share his passion for running by participating in group training runs and frequenting Pueblo’s two weekly social runs. Jason is respected not only in the running community, where Jason’s advice and knowledge is often sought, but also in the community at large.
