Dung became a runner by mistake. He decided to stop at Houston’s popular park called Memorial Park for a jog to avoid stress of sitting in the peak hours of traffic. His coworker suggested he should do a marathon after hearing that he started running. If you ask him, he would tell you he had to Google what a marathon was. After his research, he decided to run an unofficial 13.1 at the park and the rest is history. He ran his first marathon in January 2009 and since then decided to complete 5 marathons a year for a full decade. He is on track to hit his goal. While working towards this goal, he has ventured into the world of triathlon and completed several Ironman events. He has also completed a few ultramarathons, while pacing his best friend. He hopes to inspire and enable others to do the sports and races. Finishing a race is a good feeling, but helping someone toe the start line and reach the finish line is a greater and rewarding feeling to him. Setting PRs and BQ are bonuses! The main motive of him pacing, guiding, and coaching is that it’s not his race but the athletes’ race to reach their goals.
