Dixie started running short distance runs in high school. She ran several 5Ks and 10Ks before but never really started running long distances until 2012 when she decided to train for a marathon. Running with a group of friends all training for the Wisconsin Marathon in May of 2013 added several long morning miles to her run log. She has run one marathon a year since 2013 and reached her goal when she qualified for the Boston Marathon in November of 2015. Dixie enjoys pacing other racers to help encourage them and watch them achieve their goals.
