For 20+ years, Chris ran for exercise, but had never run a race before. One day, she saw a friend’s Facebook post about finishing a marathon. It inspired her to sign up for her first race, which was scheduled 3 days later, a tough 14 mile trail run with 2,700 feet of elevation gain. The temperature was in the high 90’s and assuming there were water stations, she didn’t bring any water. She took 3.5 hours to finish and eventually lost six toenails because her shoes were too small. She couldn’t have had a worse start to her racing career, but she was hooked. Five years later, she has finished 5 marathons and 50+ half marathons. She continues to be inspired by other runners. Chris loves pacing and helping other runners reach their goals and accomplish things they never imagined they would.
