Aaron was obese from age 13 to 36, and couldn’t run for a minute in high school phys ed class. After his personal doctor brought up his obesity in 2013, and taught him the secret about eating (“when you are hungry, eat; when you are not hungry, stop eating”). Aaron dropped close to 100 pounds from his highest weight, and uses running to keep his food addiction at bay.
Aaron completed his first half-marathon in 2014, and cried at the finish line — take that, high school gym teacher! Aaron’s first marathon finish was at the Chicago Marathon in 2014. Aaron is 4th degree Marathon Maniac and a member of the 50 States Marathon club, having completed 34 marathons in 23 states, as of early 2021.
Aaron regularly organizes group runs with the Natick Runners club (visitors always welcome) and especially loves pacing marathons and helping other runners reach their goals.
Aaron lives in Natick, Massachusetts, near mile 10 of the Boston Marathon route, and when he isn’t running or talking about running, he teaches finance and computer science at Boston University.
